  • NCFC Youth Enters into Long-Term Agreement with the WCC

Gary Buete, NCFC Youth CEO, and Jeff Ammons, President of Ammons Building Corporation, today announced a long-term agreement that provides NCFC Youth with majority scheduling control of two new lighted turf fields at the soon to be developed Wake Competition Center in Morrisville.

The Wake Competition Center is a 30-acre multi sports complex to be located between Aviation Parkway and Airport Blvd. A signature piece of the development is two full-size (80×120 yard) lighted turf fields. These fields will be used for nightly practices, games on weekends, and tournaments throughout the year. Each field features a nearby restroom and picnic shelter as well as ample parking.

“The Wake Competition Center’s turf fields will provide an all-weather, year-round surface for training, games, and tournaments,” said Buete. “One of our main priorities is to secure quality playing surfaces for our players, and the Wake Competition Center provides just that.” For Ammons, this is not his first venture into multi-sport complex development. Ammons successfully developed The Factory in Wake Forest, which has been serving the various recreation and sport needs of local youth and their families since 2004. Through his experience with The Factory and seeing the landscape our community change, Ammons identified a need for a similar facility in Western Wake County.

“We are thrilled to have NCFC Youth join the Wake Competition Center. Our vision is for the complex to be the Triangle’s elite sports venue for amateur and professional sports, and we are excited to give NCFC Youth players a top-notch playing surface all year round,” said Ammons. “We look forward to providing a dedicated space for youth soccer players to develop their skills alongside other sports including volleyball, ice hockey, and gymnastics.” The Wake Competition Center is currently under construction. The soccer fields are part of the first phase of construction, which also includes a championship volleyball facility, and the goal is to have these open for competition during Fall 2018.
